El Play, a thirty minute documentary, tells the story of Jairo Candelario, a young baseball player from San Pedro de Macorís, a city in The Dominican Republic known for birthing some of the world’s best baseball players. The film paints a portrait of Jairo and his commitment to the gaqme as he balances his hopes of signing a professional contract with the reality of its improbability. Interviewed are pro scouts, coaches, family members, and Robinson Canó, second baseman of the NY Yankees.
A Beautiful Photograph was a word mural project created for the D.U.M.B.O. Arts Festival. The mural appeared on Jay and Water Street for six months. The video above was exhibited at the 'Ten Years Running' exhibition at The Chelsea Art Museum.
99&9 was a typographic mural project designed as a preview to the 100 year and 10 year anniversaries of the Communication Design Department and the Design and Technology Department at Parsons the New School for Design. The video documentation was filmed with several cameras running a degree time lapse program.
El Sueńo de Macorís (The Dream in San Pedro) tells the story of Juan Manuel Candelario, an aspiring baseball player in San Pedro de Macorís, the capital of baseball in the Dominican Republic. The film gives an in-depth look at his dedication to the game and uncovers many aspects of the local culture from lifestyle to family to economics. Ultimately the film is about Juan's dream of becoming a professional baseball player and the reality of its improbability. Interviewed are scouts, coaches, family members, friends, a baseball historian and San Pedro-born Robinson Canó, the second baseman of the New York Yankees.
An Utterly Ambiguous Sentence was an assignment given in PM's Experimental Typography class. Each student was given a word to animate that would ultimately be video taped and made into a video sentence.
